October 7th, 2024 
 Two Sunday Services from St.
James Westminster and the Nitebat returns to live on-air shows at
Radio Western!
Details:
After four and a half years of producing
Radio Free London at home, I was finally able to go back to the
station's studio to do the show live on October 7th! Better a li'le bit
late than never, I've finally gotten around to editing the recording I
made of this monumental (at least for me) show. Many thanks to our
Station Manager and Scottish Ship's Engineer, Timothy Glasgow, for
showing me where to plug in so I could record the show.
Since this was a rebirth of sorts, I decided to go back to my radio
roots when I first became a volunteer show host at Radio Western in the
spring of 1982. When I joined the station, the vinyl library ruled and
there were thousands of them. Many came from record collection drives
that the closed circuit predecessor to Radio Western held in the mid
1970s and which the station inherited.
But now CDs rule (even their time is ebbing) and the vinyl library has
been relegated to the station's tech room. Luckily most of it is still
there, in various degrees of intact.
So what better way to reacquaint myself with doing live radio shows
than getting reacquainted with my old vinyl friends from over 40 years
ago.
I bookended this show with two Sunday
Services from St. James Westminster Anglican Church in Wortley Village.
Now that I'm doing live shows, I can open with the Sunday Service
from the day before instead of from the week before. So, in the name of
completeness, I featured both the September 29th and October 6th Sunday
Services on this show to catch up and keep my track record intact of
not missing a single radio show or missing airing the St. James Sunday
Services since March of 2020. Again, this only matter to me.
I'll get around to making podcasts of the other three shows it took me
to get up to speed making it all work, again for completeness.
